Salcha, Alaska is a census-designated place in Fairbanks North Star Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is part of the 'Fairbanks, Alaska Metropolitan Statistical Area'. At the 2000 census the population was 854. It is about 40 miles south of Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway. It is next to the Salcha River, a popular fishing destination.
